Aminda Tudawe

Chairman

Mr. Aminda Tudawe serves as the Director of Durdans Hospital and Durdans Heart Centre (Pvt.) Ltd. In his role as Head of Supply Chain and Procurement, he operates strategically and coordinatively, contributing to the development of the Durdans Vision 2022 project and consortium. Mr. Tudawe holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Wales (UK) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester (UK).

Rakshitha Tudawe

Managing Director

Mr. Rakshitha Tudawe is the Executive Director of Durdans Heart Centre (Pvt) Ltd and Durdans Medical & Surgical Hospital (Pvt) Ltd, as well as the Managing Director of Amrak Institute. With over seven years of experience in the healthcare industry, he has successfully managed six key business units and driven revenue growth for the company. In 2017, he led the brand repositioning of Durdans Hospital. Rakshitha holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Economics from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, a Master’s degree in Management from Loughborough Business School, and has participated in executive programs at INSEAD, France.

Malintha Balasuriya

General Manager

Ms. Malintha Balasuriya, holding a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales, Cardiff Metropolitan, brings over eighteen years of management experience to AMRAK Institute of Medical Sciences. She has worked at Union Assurance, American International Group, and MAS Intimates. Her background spans sales, marketing, and human resource management, bringing together a broad understanding of business and people.

Mishal Faizan

Head of Academic

Mr. Mishal Faizan, Holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science from Northumbria University, United Kingdom, and a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from the University of Colombo, Mishal Faizan brings together expertise in molecular biology, sequencing technologies, and cell culture–based clinical research. His work focuses on integrating computational and experimental methodologies to deepen understanding in human health and disease. With several peer-reviewed publications in computational drug discovery, his research interests extend to molecular docking, structural bioinformatics, and precision medicine, where he strives to bridge biological science with technological innovation through data- driven, translational research

Shehan De Silva

The Head of the School of Science

Mr. Shehan holds a BSc Special Degree in Human Biology with Specialization in Pharmacology from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayawardenapura. With nearly two decades of professional experience, he has previously worked at highly regarded organizations, including Calcey Technologies and Durdans Hospital

Lorna Hettiaratchy

The Head of the School of Nursing

Mrs. Lorna Hettiaratchy, a registered nurse from the Philippines, is a program leader at Birmingham City University and a Senior Nursing Lecturer in the Department of Nursing at the AMRAK Institute of Medical Sciences. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Nursing and has over 11 years of experience as a Nursing Officer at Durdans Nurses Training School, along with 14 months as a Nurse at Ninewells Hospital in Sri Lanka. Additionally, she spent five years as a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at St. Jude College of Nursing in Manila, Philippines, and has three years of experience as a Staff Nurse in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Thishan Perera

Head of Sales & Marketing

Thishan leads Sales & Marketing at Amrak Institute of Medical Sciences, where his journey began in 2022 as a Student Counsellor. Over four years, he rose through Senior Student Counsellor, Assistant Manager, and Manager of Sales & Growth before stepping into his current leadership role — a progression built on a deep understanding of what students and parents need at every stage of their decision. Before AIMS, Thishan built his foundation in direct sales and business development at Ceylon Cold Stores PLC and as an Insurance Advisor with Softlogic Life. Today, he brings that full-circle experience to guiding prospective students toward the right career path in healthcare.

Hiruni Perera

Student Counselor

Ms. Hiruni Perera is a Student Counselor at the Amrak Institute of Medical Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and has professional experience in student counselling, education consultancy, and operations management. Prior to joining Amrak, she worked as a Senior Executive – Operations & Student Counselor at Edlocate (Pvt) Ltd., gaining experience in overseas education counselling, course selection, visa guidance, and coordination with universities. In her current role, she guides students through academic and career decisions and supports them throughout the admissions process.

Fathima Faaiqa

Student Counselor

Ms. Fathima Faaiqa is a Student Counsellor at AMRAK Institute of Medical Sciences. She holds a BA in Psychology and Counselling from IIC University of Cambodia and an NVQ Level 4 in Child Caregiving. She has experience as an Assistant Psychologist and Counselling Associate at Asiri Health Hospitals, along with counselling training at the Divisional Secretariat of Kolonnawa and experience in promotions and communication. Her diverse background enables her to provide compassionate and effective guidance to students in their engagement and enrolment journey at AMRAK.
